The ACT Plan program helped 10th grade students build a solid foundation for future academic and career success and provided information needed to address school districts' high-priority issues. It was a comprehensive guidance resource that helped students measure their current academic development, explore career/training options, and make plans for the remaining years of high school and post-graduation years.
ACT Plan was designed to help all students - those who are college-bound as well as those who are likely to enter the workforce directly after high school. As a "pre-ACT" test, ACT Plan was a powerful predictor of success on the ACT. At the same time, many schools recognized the importance of ACT Plan testing for all students, as it focused attention on both career preparation and improving academic achievement.
The ACT Plan assessment was administered each fall to all Kentucky public school students enrolled in the 10th grade. This test was last given in 2014.
