Administration Code and Inclusion of Special Populations Training Materials specifically designed for the Alternate Assessment Program
The Administration Code and Inclusion Regulations Training materials provide additional support to anyone administering Kentucky's Alternate Assessment. This training may supplement the general education Administration Code and Inclusion of Special Populations annual training upon district approval.
Alternate K-PREP Overview Trainings
These required training modules are for Kentucky’s Alternate Assessment (Alternate K-PREP) based on Alternate Achievement Standards. The trainings are narrated PowerPoints.
The Overview Trainings (Part I & II) include information that is pertinent to both components of the alternate assessment and provides an overview of the entire system. Important information covered in these trainings include participation guidelines, grade level requirements, the Alternate Assessment Accountability Folder or AAAF, Code of Ethics, and an orientation to the various assessment materials.
Alternate K-PREP Attainment Tasks Trainings
The Attainment Tasks (AT) training is a requirement for the certified teacher administering the Alternate K-PREP assessment to any student participating in Kentucky’s Alternate Assessment during either of the two Attainment Task testing windows.
This training includes specific information regarding content areas tested, accommodations permitted, simplification of materials, handling of secure materials and what to do after an assessment window ends.
Listen and watch the three AT Training PowerPoints. At the end of the third training part, there is a link to an online quiz which must be completed and passed by each person administering this assessment.
Alternate K-PREP Transition Attainment Record Trainings
The Transition Attainment Record (TAR) assessment is designed to provide students with severe cognitive disabilities access to modified standards aligned to Kentucky's Core Academic Standards. The TAR meets the testing requirements for EXPLORE (grade 8), PLAN (grade 10) and ACT (grade 11).
The TAR is a checklist based assessment which evaluates the student's readiness in reading/writing, mathematics and science.
The TAR also represents the growth score from grades 10 to 11 and the college readiness benchmark at grade 11 for Alternate Assessment students.
