The 2008 Kentucky Teaching and Learning Conference (KTLC) will be held March 6-7, in Louisville at the International Convention Center. The theme, Student Learning for the 21st Century - Every Child, Every Day, will showcase excellence from schools and districts across the Commonwealth focusing on the following areas of emphasis:

Assessment for Learning

Closing the Achievement Gap

Successful School Culture

Technology

The goal of KTLC is to help move educators to new levels of leadership and practice. As educators, you have a wealth of information to share with the thousands of those who attend the conference each year.

The Kentucky Department of Education is seeking presenters for one and one-half hour sessions and workshops. If more time is needed, we encourage two-part presentations. We know the work you are doing will be of interest to other schools and districts in the state and we hope you agree to present.

As a main presenter at KTLC, you will receive full complimentary conference registration. Teachers who are approved for a minimum of three hours of presentation will receive a $50 stipend.

We hope you will be able to be part of the 2008 conference program. Please visit the KTLC Web site at www.kentuckytlc.org for complete information on submitting an application. The deadline to submit an application is October 31, 2007.
