The following Department of Education requests for proposals (RFP) are open for bid or application (click on highlighted title for detailed RFP): 

Complaint Investigator RFP, 540-0800001400, deadline June 27, 2008, 4:00 p.m.  The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) from qualified individuals to provide for the investigation of formal written complaints.

 

KDE is required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004) and the Kentucky Administrative Regulations 707 1:340, to carry out independent investigations of written formal complaints within 60 days.  The purpose of the system is to afford complaints and/or local education agency an opportunity to bring to KDE information of practices that are not in compliance with the provisions afforded to students with a disability under IDEA.  The individual needed will be someone who is knowledgeable of the laws and regulations governing programs for students with disabilities.  On an as needed basis, the Division of Exceptional Children Services announces that it will accept an application for the aforementioned services.

 

Services will commence on or around August 1, 2008 and will continue through June 30, 2010.

KSB Goal Ball Coach RFP, 540-0800001375, deadline June 27, 2008, 4:00 p.m.  The Kentucky Department of Education is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) from a qualified individual to serve as goal ball coach for the 2008 - 2009 school year.  This is a part-time position located at the Kentucky School for the Blind.  This RFP and any subsequent award will be governed in accordance with Kentucky Law.

 

KSD Occupational/Physical Therapist RFP, 540-0800001410, deadline July 10, 2008, 4:00 p.m.  The Kentucky Department of Education is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) from qualified individuals to serve as an Occupational/Physical Therapist for the Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD). KSD is located in Danville, Kentucky and is a K-12 school serving deaf and hard of hearing students from throughout the commonwealth of Kentucky.  The professional services are to be provided on the KSD campus in Danville, Kentucky.

 

KVHS RFP, 540-0800001412, deadline July 10, 2008, 4:00 p.m.  The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP from qualified individuals to assist in the development and delivery of high quality instruction online through the Kentucky Virtual Schools (KYVS).  The KYVS offers online courses to elementary, middle and high school students as well as professional development through the Kentucky Virtual High School (KVHS) and e-Learning Kentucky professional development.

 

This RFP and any subsequent award(s) will be governed in accordance with Kentucky Law.

End of Primary (Grade 3) National Norm-Referenced Test (NRT) RFP, deadline July 14, 2008, 4:00 p.m.  The Kentucky Department of Education is seeking a Vendor to provide a uniform norm-referenced test (NRT) to be administered to End of Primary (grade 3) students beginning with the 2008-09 school year in the subjects of reading/language arts and mathematics.  There are approximately 50,000 grade 3 students statewide. The successful Vendor must demonstrate considerable national expertise and experience in developing, administering, and scoring a nationally recognized NRT.
