Each year, two Kentucky students are selected to receive a $5,000 scholarship and a one-week internship in Washington, DC, through this program, which is sponsored by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation.
The Department of Education send applications each fall to every public and private high school. Applications should arrive in all schools by September 1. The applications should be returned postmarded no later than November 15th. Kentucky's winners are announced by the Hearst Foundation at year's end.
