If you’ve ever been working in Office 2007 and found it inconvenient to reach over and use the mouse to navigate, this tip is for you.
Office 2007 contains an “Alt” navigation feature that allows you to quickly move around without the mouse and without having to memorize a bunch of shortcut keys. To activate the Alt navigation, simply click the Alt button in any Office 2007 document, doing so will make a series of letters appear over the navigation ribbon. Next, click the corresponding letter to navigate where you’d like to go.
Each navigation menu thereafter will present you with letters so you don’t have to use the mouse. To turn off the feature, you can either select the tool you’re looking for or just hit Alt to return to your standard view.
