2005 CATS Interpretive Guide, version 3.1

The CATS Interpretive Guide gives detailed information on how to interpret and use the results provided by the Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT), Writing Portfolio, Norm-Referenced Test and other components of the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS).  As required by statute, the Kentucky Performance Report (KPR) and student level reports are received by school districts 150 days after the first day of the spring testing window. The data in these reports are constructed from information provided by many sources: students, schools, district offices, the Kentucky Department of Education and testing contractors.  The KPR is designed to show performance for all content areas at the elementary, middle and high school levels.  The assessment and accountability results are the most important part of the KPR, providing all the summary information pertaining to a school's accountability classification, including the growth chart unique to each school.  The Interpretive Guide describes each unique page of the KPR in detail.  The following topics are covered in the CATS Interpretive Guide:
