At the completion of the assessment in April 2006, students, teachers and administrators involved with CATS Online complete a brief online survey.  The following are some of the comments taken from the surveys.

Representative comments made by teachers and administrators:

"Students seem to reread questions and check answers more often when testing online."

"Students seem to put more into testing."

"Students are less embarrassed."

"Students are more independent when testing online."

"Students seem to reread test items more often."

"Students like being able to work at their own pace."

Representative comments made by students:

"I think it was easier because it was easy to understand how to do it and go from question to question."

"It helped me understand what the question was saying.  If I was reading I wouldn't know what was going on."

"I could answer the open response questions faster because of the typing and the spell checking made all my words correct."

"I like to take the test on the computer.  It seems so much easier and I don't have to have a person read to me.  So that gives someone else that person.  The test online gives me everything that was needed.  I like it more than having a reader read to me."

"I really liked taking the test on the computer. I found it very helpful and a lot easier."
