The Kentucky Department of Education produces and updates electronic tools to aid school districts in the interpretation of the CATS data. Using information found in the Kentucky Performance Reports, the Subgroup Comparison Tool allows schools to track how their subgroups are performing over time and may contain data from 1999 through 2006 for each school. Due to the test design changes in the 2006-2007 KCCT, this tool can no longer be updated.
The CATS Calculation Spreadsheets allow schools to project future performance based on projections of the number of students in each core content area and performance level. In 2007 the All spreadsheet was added to include calculations for those schools not following traditional elementary, middle and high school splits (3-5, 6-8, & 9-12).
The School Demographic Profiler allows the user to find similar schools to their own based on certain demographic variables related to reading and mathematics.
The Student Data Tool is student level information and is given to the schools each year when the CATS information is released. This tool is not available on the website, but the manual for it is.
Information concerning the Concordance tables used to bridge the old and new test designs may be found here.
