Board of Education member Doug Whitlock, who is also president of EKU, and Jean Crowley, board development specialist with the Kentucky School Boards Association and a member of the Danville Independent Board of Education.

Draud talks with Kentucky Department of Education Facilities Management Director Mark Ryles about the relative condition of school buildings in the state, the planning, finance and construction of new buildings and "green" energy initiatives currently used in some Kentucky schools.

Topics include the use of technology in the classroom, communications, professional development and good technology citizenship.

They discuss the council's mission, available resources and current initiatives to encourage economic and financial literacy among Kentucky's young people.
Program #7: Commissioner Jon E. Draud discusses Highly Skilled Educators and their role in school improvement in Kentucky. Guests are Steve Schenck, associate commissioner for the Office of Leadership and School Improvement, Kentucky Department of Education and Suzanne Wright, a Highly Skilled Educator in Jefferson County.
