(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- Kentucky Education Commissioner Gene Wilhoit will visit selected high schools over the next few weeks.
The visits are designed to give school staffs, students and administrators opportunities to discuss issues, activities and challenges with the commissioner. Many of the schools to be visited have shown marked progress in the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS), have low dropout rates or have implemented programs to meet their students' individual needs.
On Friday, March 14, Wilhoit visited Woodford County High School. The next two visits are:
Monday, March 17: Male High School, Jefferson County
8 a.m. - School tour
8:45 - 10:15 a.m. - Conversations with teachers, students and administrators
Wednesday, March 19: Pikeville High School
10:30 a.m. - School tour
11:15 a.m. - 12 noon - Conversations with teachers, students and administrators
Dates and times for the remaining visits have not yet been finalized, but will be announced soon.
