(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- A new page on the Kentucky Department of Education's Web site provides information about the state's K-12 educational progress and demonstrates that the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS) is an accurate measure of what is taking place in Kentucky classrooms.
. The "Proof of Progress" page can be accessed by visiting the department's main site at http://www.kentuckyschools.org, then clicking on the link on the left-hand side of the page. The site also may be reached by entering the keyword "#progress" in the keyword/search box on any page in the site.
The new page includes:
- information about Kentucky's national standings in K-12 education
- national recognition of the state's educational system
links to national and state test score information
- dropout and retention data
- a Rapid Response Reality Check -- responses to claims made about K-12 education
The page shows how Kentucky has moved forward since education reform was implemented in 1990 and what educators, parents, students and citizens are doing to ensure that progress continues.
