(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- Results from the 2003 administration of the Comprehensive Test of Basic Skills (CTBS/5) will be released on Wednesday, August 13, at noon EDT.
Since 1997, Kentucky's exiting primary (3rd grade), 6th-graders and 9th-graders have taken the CTBS each spring. The norm-referenced tests assess students' abilities on reading, mathematics and language arts. Data from the tests can be used for comparison on local, state and national levels.
CTBS, along with non-academic data and the Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT) is one component of the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS). The non-academic data was released in July, and the KCCT data will be released in early October.
The CTBS/5 data may be accessed on the Kentucky Department of Education's Web site at http://www.kentuckyschools.org on Wednesday afternoon.
