EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN ADVISORY PANEL PUBLIC HEARING

News Advisory 04-013 -- April 8, 2004

            (FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- The State Advisory Panel for Exceptional Children invites parents of children with disabilities, education leaders and professionals and other interested citizens to a public hearing scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park in Corbin. 

The public hearing is part of the panel’s April meeting, also to be held at the park. The primary purpose of the panel is to advise the Kentucky Department of Education's Division of Exceptional Children Services on issues concerning the education of children and youth with disabilities.

            Individuals are invited to express their comments regarding any issues in the education of children and youth with educational disabilities during the public hearing. There also will be an opportunity for participants to meet panel members. 

The Governor appoints panel members, and meetings are held in January, April, June and October.
