(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- Informational workshops focused on current Kentucky Department of Education initiatives for children and youth with disabilities have been scheduled in various locations across the state.
"Connecting with KDE" workshops will be held in three locations in May. These are full day workshops for parents and professionals. Lunch will be provided. Although there is no registration fee, participants should register.
Workshop topics include:
- Updates on KDE Initiatives
- Kentucky Continuous Monitoring Process
- Annual Performance Report
- IDEA Update
Workshop times and locations are:
- Monday, May 2, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. -- Center for Rural Development, Somerset
- Tuesday, May 10, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. --Jefferson Community College Campus, Shelbyville
- Wednesday, May 11, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. -- Christian County Board of Education, Hopkinsville
After each session, time will be allotted for questions and feedback regarding the writing of new state regulations for the reauthorized Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004.
