(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- A series of town meetings will provide opportunities for citizens to give their input on new state regulations affecting the education of children with special needs.
The meetings are sponsored by the Kentucky Department of Education and the state's 11 special education cooperatives.
The input will be considered as the Kentucky Board of Education revises the state's administrative regulations related to special education services to meet federal requirements. The process will be complete when the U.S. Department of Education issues its final regulations, which are expected in December.
A survey will be posted on the Kentucky Department of Education's Web page, enabling visitors to provide their input electronically. Information about the survey will be posted on the main site in the next few weeks.
The town meetings are scheduled at various locations across the state. All times listed are local.
