(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- The Kentucky Board of Education will meet Wednesday and Thursday, June 8 and 9, in the State Board Room of the Capital Plaza Tower in Frankfort.
On Wednesday, the full board will meet at 9 a.m. Committee meetings will begin at 4 p.m. On Thursday, the board will hold a study session on special education at 8 a.m. The board's Assessment and Management Committees will meet beginning at 10 a.m., and the full board will meet at 12:45 p.m.
On Wednesday, the board will present the Dr. Samuel Robinson Award, established in 2004 to honor retiring board member Samuel Robinson and to celebrate the Brown vs. Board of Education decision of 1954. The annual award is conferred on an individual or organization in Kentucky for demonstrating outstanding commitment, service and leadership in promoting opportunities to learn at high levels for all Kentucky students.
Agenda items include the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS), budget priorities and assistance to school districts based on their performance in CATS.
