(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- The Kentucky Board of Education will meet Wednesday and Thursday, August 3 and 4, in the State Board Room of the Capital Plaza Tower in Frankfort.
On Wednesday, the board's Nominating Committee will meet at 8 a.m. in closed session to discuss personnel. No action will be taken. The full board will meet at 9 a.m. At 2:30 p.m., the board's Management Committee will meet. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., the board will meet in closed session to discuss the commissioner's evaluation. No action will be taken. On Thursday, the board's Curriculum Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m., and the Assessment Committee will meet at 10 a.m. The board will reconvene in full session at 10:45 a.m.
The board will present the sixth annual Joe Kelly Award at noon on Wednesday. Other agenda items include a presentation on refocusing secondary education, action on a regulation governing school nutrition and discussion on eliminating the achievement gap.
