(FRANKFORT, Ky.) -- The State Advisory Panel for Exceptional Children invites parents of children with disabilities, education leaders and professionals and other interested citizens to a public hearing scheduled for Thursday, October 27, at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park in Prestonsburg.
The public hearing begins at 6:30 p.m. and is scheduled to end at 8 p.m. The hearing is a part of the State Advisory Panel’s October meeting, also to be held at the park. The primary purpose of the panel is to advise the Kentucky Department of Education's Division of Exceptional Children Services on issues concerning the education of children and youth with disabilities.
Attendees are invited to express their comments regarding any issues in the education of children and youth with disabilities during the public hearing. There also will be opportunities for participants to meet panel members.
The Governor appoints panel members, and meetings will be held four times a year. Attendees may contact the Division of Exceptional Children Services at (502) 564-4970 for more information.
