(FRANKFORT, Ky.) – Students from across Kentucky will compete in the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) state competition set for Thursday, May 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lexington Convention Center.
Students will show off their skills in a variety of areas, including a project showcase, bench challenge, Web design, technology quick recall, gaming and programming.
The state competition also will feature technology sessions for students, teachers and parents, and the sessions will be offered through video conferencing to sites across the state. Student participants also will engage in learning opportunities during the competition by serving as engineers, project managers, cyber-reporters and video stringers.
The STLP state competition will culminate in the STLP Annual Awards Ceremony, which will be held at the Convention Center's Bluegrass Ballroom on Friday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m.
STLP is a project-based learning program that empowers students in all grade levels to use technology to
learn and achieve. Each of Kentucky's 176 school districts has at least one school participating in STLP.
