(FRANKFORT, Ky.) – The Kentucky Board of Education will meet Wednesday and Thursday, August 2 and 3, in the State Board Room of the Capital Plaza Tower in Frankfort.
On Wednesday, the board's Nominating Committee will meet at 8 a.m. to discuss and approve recommendations to the full board for chair and vice-chair. The board will meet in full session beginning at 9 a.m., and the board's Management Committee will meet at 3 p.m. On Thursday, the board's Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction Committee will meet at 9 a.m., and the board will meet in full session at 10:45 a.m.
The board will present the annual Dr. Samuel Robinson Award on Wednesday. The award is given in honor
of former board member Samuel Robinson and recognizes individuals or organizations in Kentucky for
demonstrating outstanding commitment, service and leadership in promoting opportunities to learn at high levels for
all Kentucky students.
Agenda items include presentations and discussions on the state school assessment and accountability formula, the Kentucky Education Technology System (KETS) and a report on school facilities.
