Technical Schools USA lists a variety of technical college programs and technology-based career paths.  Students can search this information to find a listing of technical schools in every state and the degree programs each school offers.

Collegegrad.com contains a page dedicated to a career as a software engineer.  This page contains a thorough job description of a software engineer as well as a software engineer's working conditions, needed skills, education requirements, salary, advancement possibilities, and related career information.

This site contains a variety of material for careers in information technology including career descriptions, job requirements, job tasks, specialization, and job opportunities.  Careers featured within this site include computer programming, computer science, web design, networking, robotics, and artificial intelligence.

The Princeton Review provides students with information on a variety of career and educational opportunities.  The site includes career placement testing, career planning, internship information, and interviewing skills.  Also, the Princeton Review provides a large college and university database that includes information such as degree programs, enrollment size, and student/teacher ratio.

Career Voyages is a web site students and parents can use to explore career options in a variety of industries.  Some of these industries include manufacturing, automotive, construction, financial services, health care, hospitality, information technology, transportation and many more.  Also contained in this site are pages dedicated to career questions and answers, popular career listings, and links to other career sites.

This great site allows students to explore vocational and technical careers, check out the skills employers really want, find a trade school, research technical topics, and take a look at the current job market within their chosen field.

This site provides information on several specific careers in easy-to-read chart form.  Viewers are provided with salary information as well as links to more specific websites in each career area. 

 

Bureau of Labor Statistics

This site provides information about various careers in an easy-to-read format.  A description of what each job is like, what the future holds for the jobs, and what preparation is needed for success in the jobs are also included in this site.  There are also links to more information about jobs in this area.
