Mathematics for Business and Industry is a one credit, interdisciplinary elective course which meets the math core content requirement for graduation. Instruction will focus on the math core content. This course enables the student to explore mathematical content for personal, business, and industrial use. Math concepts and skills are applied through study and problem-solving activities in real-world situations in the following areas: banking, measurement, borrowing and investing, consumer purchases, and financial management. Appropriate business forms are used in each unit. At the discretion of the school, this course may be offered as an elective math credit or a Business Education credit. In either case, the math requirements for the core content for assessment are addressed.
