Industry Certificates for College/Career Readiness

Last Updated on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 5:41 PM

As the transition from the Interim Accountability System to the upcoming Long Term Accountability System required by Senate Bill 1 begins, the Kentucky Department of Education will begin computing additional indicators. One new indicator will be the creation of a High School Graduate College/Career Readiness Percentage. This new High School Graduate College/Career Readiness Percentage report will be available on a state level web site to any student, parent, local board member and media person.  The High School Graduate College/Career Readiness Percentage depends on ACT scores, college placement scores and for the Career component, Industry Certificates.  Industry Certificates for Career Pathways are reviewed and updated on an annual basis so that Career and Technical Education programs will know what Industry Certificates are approved for inclusion in the High School Graduate College/Career Readiness Percentage.  Industry Certificate data must be reported in the Technical Education Database System (TEDS).
