Curriculum Map for Interdisciplinary Construction Technology/Geometry Course

During the summer of 2002, a group of construction technology teachers and high school geometry teachers met for a week to develop an integrated construction technology/geometry course that could be taught by a construction technology instructor in collaboration with a high school mathematics teacher.  It was intended that a student could receive his/her required geometry credit for graduation by completing two of the three construction technology courses.

The two groups of teachers worked together to define the tasks that are dealt with during the course of the three construction technology courses and how those tasks relate to the Program of Studies bullets that make up a graduation credit in geometry.  The accompanying curriculum maps define an almost week-by-week schedule of tasks and the related Program of Studies bullets and Core Content for Assessment bullets, including resources that the collaborating teachers could use to assist the students in understanding the geometry concepts involved in each of the instruction technology tasks.
