2005 - 2006 Kentucky Title III AMAO's State, District and Consortium Reports

Last Updated on Thursday, September 04, 2008 at 5:01 AM

The Kentucky Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAO's) are based on the English Language Proficiency Standards for Kentucky Schools and relate to LEP students' development and attainment of English language proficiency (Title III, Section 3122).

A notification letter for Title III AMAO has been sent (September 22, 2006) from the Kentucky Department of Education (Commissioner Gene Wilhoit) to the Superintendents, Title III/ELL District Coordinators, Title I Directors and District Assessment Coordinator of each district that served LEP students in 2005-2006. Based on clarification from Kathleen Leos, Assistant Deputy Secretary, Office of English Language Acquisition, U.S. Department of Education (April 2006), members of consortia will also receive a AMAO report for the consortium beginning with the 2005-06 school year.

This letter, along with a Title III AMAO Interpretive Guide, and a Power Point Presentation are available below for download. This Power Point presentation, Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAO's) for NCLB Title III by Edgar Adams, Division of Assessment Implementation, explains Kentucky's achievement targets set to evaluate the effectiveness of language instructional programs. Please use the Interpretive Guide and Power Point presentation to help you understand your district and/or consortium report.
