Many events take place in schools and their communities. Students that take digital images or shoot video can report about these events. These events can be posted to the web or provide information for print. Some schools produce student news via a newsletter, the web or a news TV show.
At the regional showcases and state conference, students act as cyber-reporters to record the history. The stories are sometimes posted to the web.
The Jefferson County Technology Department, Jana Hickey and Michael Dailey helped develop the concept cyber-reporting at the annual teachers' conference called Kentucky Teaching and Learning Conference (KTLC). Skills needed by students and information on starting a cyber gazette at your school can be found on the History of the Cyber Gazette.
