Tech Tip 18 - Blogs

Published: 4/15/2013 4:31 PM

A blog (a contraction of the term “web log”) is a web site that contains an online personal or professional journal with reflections, comments, and often links to other blogs or websites provided by the writer.

The ability of readers to leave comments in an interactive format is also an important part of many blogs. Microblogging is another type of blog, featuring very short posts. The website www.Twitter.com is a good example of a microblogging website.  Twitter limits its users to posts of 140 characters or less.

Tip – Dr. Holliday uses both a regular blog which can be found here http://kyedcommissioner.blogspot.com/ and a Twitter account which can be found here http://twitter.com/kycommissioner.  Dr. Holliday’s blog posts are also added to the KDE website which can be found online at http://education.ky.gov/CommOfEd/blog/Pages/default.aspx
