The Kentucky Board of Education envisions that all students will GRADUATE ready for college and careers. Its vision is driven by data that says 80% of jobs now require training beyond high school and 67% of those jobs require a post-secondary degree. Yet, in 2012 only 86% of our students graduated and only 54% were college and career ready (CCR). To support schools in meeting their graduation and CCR goals, the Kentucky Department of Education has developed the Persistence to Graduation Tool.
Facts about the PtGT:
- It is an early warning indicator system for identifying students who may be off-track for promotion or on-time graduation.
- It provides critical student-level data to identify specific students in need of additional intervention and/or support.
- It assigns every student a RISK VALUE SCORE based on research-based indicators.
In order to pull a PtGT report for your school or district, go to Infinite Campus -> System Administrator -> KY State Reporting -> KDE reports -> Persistence to Graduation.
*We suggest that schools and districts run the CSV report at the beginning and end of the school year, as it can be lengthy and time consuming to generate. You may run the PDF version at any time.
