Support for Priority Schools

This page shows the overarching support structure for Kentucky's 40 Priority Schools.

All of the Priority Schools in Kentucky belong to one of three regions: West, Central or East
Regions are served by a Center for Learning Excellence (CLE). Each CLE works with an Educational Recovery Director or designated leader.
Each center is located at one of our state universities.
The WEST region center is located at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The CENTRAL region center is located at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.
The EAST region center is located at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
The Executive Directors and the Educational Recovery Directors work collaboratively to support schools in their region by developing partnerships with universities, educational agencies, and external stakeholders. These relationships are fostered by showing partners the documented needs these schools have in order to get them connected with school and district staff.
School Support
Priority Schools are supported by providing staffing for each school with an Education Recovery Team. Each team is comprised of an Educational Recovery Leader and two Educational Recovery Specialists who will support school staff with an emphasis on literacy and math. This team will focus their work around a systems approach that supports the mission and vision of the school leader.
