Kentucky is in the process of creating a Principal Professional Growth and Effectiveness System (PPGES).
During the 2012-2013 school year, 30 principals from across the Commonwealth participated in a PPGES field test. Data from the field test was collected throughout the year to further inform the system efficiency and policy consideration.
The Principal Professional Growth and Effectiveness System (PPGES) was developed by Dr. James Stronge. The uniform performance standards used in this system provide a balance between structure and flexibility. The goal is to support the continuous growth and development of each principal by monitoring, analyzing, and applying pertinent data compiled within a system of meaningful feedback.
During the 2013-2014 school year, the Principal Professional Growth and Effectiveness System (PPGES) will be implemented statewide. Full implementation for accountability will occur in 2014-15.
