Kentucky is in the process of creating a Principal Professional Growth and Effectiveness System (PPGES).
During the 2012-2013 school year, 30 principals from across the Commonwealth are participating in a PPGES field test. Data from the field test will be collected throughout the year to further inform the system efficency and policy consideration.
The goal of this system is to support continuous growth and development of each principal by monitoring, analyzing, and applying pertinent data compiled within a system of meaningful feedback.
The Principal Professional Growth and Effectiveness System (PPGES) was developed by Dr. James Stronge. The uniform performance standards used in this system provide a balance between structure and flexibility. The goal is to support the continuous growth and development of each principal by monitoring, analyzing, and applying pertinent data compiled within a system of meaningful feedback.
During the 2013-2014 school year, the Principal Professional Growth and Effectiveness System (PPGES) will be piloted statewide.
