The next series of modules helps viewers gain a deeper understanding of the measures being field tested in the Teacher Professional Growth and Effectiveness System.
Student Growth
The Student Growth Module is designed to help TPGES field test participants gain a better understanding of the goal-setting process and write quality goals for measuring student growth. Viewers will have the opportunity to analyze examples of student growth goals for quality based on a checklist of criteria, including the SMART criteria. Each of the criteria is explained in detail in the presentation. Viewers are encouraged to rewrite the goal examples shared in the module so they meet the criteria.

Reflective Practice & Professional Growth
The Reflection and Professional Growth Goals Module clarifies the connection between reflection and professional growth. Participants will use self-reflection to identify areas of needed growth and they will be prepared to collaboratively develop and implement a Professional Growth Plan that is informed by self-reflection.
Important!! Preparing for the Reflective Practice and Professional Growth Module
Before beginning this module, download the two handouts. Participants should first use the downloaded copy of the Kentucky Framework for Teaching to complete a self-assessment of professional growth needs. This is accomplished by reading each component within the Framework and highlighting in the "Indicators" columns your current perceived level of performance. It is anticipated that there will be indicators highlighted across all of the performance domains - generally within each of the individual components. An honest transparent self-reflection will serve you best as you take the information learned in this training module and apply it to your individual Professional Growth Goal. Once you have completed the self-assessment, you will be ready to begin viewing the Detailed Module on Professional Growth
Planning and Self-Reflection.

Observation
The observation module helps participants gain an understanding of how to effectively collect evidence during a classroom observation and apply evidence to the Framework for Teaching. Since it is most important to script factual evidence, this module clarifies the difference. between evidence, interpretation, and bias. Viewers will participate in a practice observation where they will script and apply evidence to the framework, then compare to that of juried observers.
Note that observation is now a component of the Educator Development Suite in CIITS for field test participants.

Beyond the Basics
The following module is not a part of the initial training of the Teacher Professional Growth and Effectiveness System, but provides an opportunity to dig deeper into the Kentucky Framework for Teaching.
Digging Deeper into the Framework
This module takes participants into an analysis of component 3b, Questioning and Discussion Techniques, within domain 3 Instruction. Participants look at each element closely to understand what each means to instructional practice. This process can be applied to "dig deeper" into other components in the Kentucky Framework for Teaching. Be sure to view this module with a small group or a partner.
