The Professional Development Training Opportunities Bulletin Board is a listing of professional development trainings offered by various vendors.
Vendors who offer professional development training to teachers and/or administrators are invited to submit their trainings to this site so districts may use this as a resource when locating training.
PROVIDERS PLEASE NOTE:
Please do not contact the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) to obtain "approval" to provide teachers with professional development. The KDE does not approve professional development opportunities or providers for teachers to receive credit for professional development (the KDE does approve PD for administrators through the EILA system). Individual districts are responsible for determining if a professional development opportunity is acceptable for credit. Providers may not advertise their professional development as being approved for PD credit by the Kentucky Department of Education.
KRS156.095 (6) states that the "Department of Education shall establish an electronic consumer bulletin board that posts information regarding professional development providers and programs as a service to school district central office personnel, school councils, teachers, and administrators. Participation on the electronic consumer bulletin board shall be voluntary for professional development providers or vendors …Posting information on the bulletin board by the department shall not be viewed as an endorsement of the quality of any specific provider or program." This service should help schools and districts locate the resources they need to fulfill ongoing professional development plans and projects.
Providers or vendors will be responsible for submitting their own training program(s). All vendors will be encouraged, but not required, to create individual websites to make further information available to potential consumers. Interested viewers will be able to search the database for programs according to content area or provider.
