- Resources to implement PGES in CIITS
The Professional Growth and Effectiveness System (PGES) regulation, 704 KAR 3:370, requires documentation in the, "department-approved platform." Teachers and principals use EDS to record Self-Reflections, create Professional Growth Plans, work through the Student Growth Goal setting process, conduct observations, connect observation results to professional learning experiences, and view their Student Voice Survey results.

Observation Time Saving Tips
See the short video below to learn about adding scripted evidence as an artificat to the observation tool. Principals will align the evidence and make note of that in the script. They will link to each of the components observed and reference the notes in the artifact. However, once the artifact is attached addionally copying and pasting all of the evidence to each of the components within the tool is not a requirement.
Student Growth Goals
There are currently reported issues with the Student Growth Goal Setting Process. It is KEY that teachers know who is to approve the SGG and choose this person's name when initially sharing it. If the incorrect person is chosen or if the person to approve it does not have an Action Item to approve the goal (SGG was submitted to an inactive account) teachers may contact the CIITS Help Desk. Or, a teacher may create a new SGG and copy with the correct person.
A hotfix is being applied and the release of 16.1 will resolve these critical isues. If you experience difficulty creating or submitting a SGG contact the CIITS Help Desk.
District Level Administrator – Access to School Confidential Information
A district level administrator who is the immediate supervisor of a certified employee (OPGES or TPGES) and responsible for the evaluation of an employee may access the sources of evidence associated with this employee by being assigned School Leadership permission at the individual school where the employee is assigned. (All professionals participating in OPGES must be assigned in Infinite Campus to an individual school.) The district leadership may access the employee’s sources of evidence once they have changed their default institution located in “My Account.”
Note: Once the district administrator has been granted School Leadership permission at an individual school in order to evaluate an employee the administrator will have access in CIITS to all employees’ sources of evidence at that school to which they are assigned.
Peer Observation Notification Emails
Pearson has identified a defect within the email notification that is sent to teachers upon the completion of a Peer Observation. The email notification states that the peer observation is now available for leadership review. This text is not an accurate reflection of the Peer Observation Process and Pearson will be updating the text to reflect the accurate process. As a reminder, Peer Observations can only be accessed by the designated Peer Observer and the teacher being observed.

Superintendent & PPGES Evaluator
Two additional roles have been added to CIITS and Infinite Campus to support PPGES. The role of “CIITS District Leader Evaluator” enables the superintendent or his designee to view self-reflections and approve the PGPs of principals in the district; this role is being automatically assigned to all active superintendents as long as they are properly defined in Infinite Campus. The role of “CIITS School Leader Evaluator” enables principals or designees to view self-reflections and approve the PGPs of assistant principals within their school. This role is automatically assigned to all active principals as long as they are properly defined in Infinite Campus.
In the future, the “CIITS District Leader Evaluator” role will also allow users to record site visits of principals. Superintendents, and their designees who have been assigned the “CIITS District Leader Evaluator” role, will receive this ability with no action required by the district.
Both roles are available in Infinite Campus to be assigned to individuals (designees) other than the superintendent and principal that are serving as evaluators of principals and assistant principals.
