David
Horseman was named the Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE’s) associate
commissioner in the Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) in 2018. He
first joined KDE in 2015 as OCTE’s director of technical schools and federal
programs.
Originally
from Stanford, Horseman received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
from the University of Kentucky. He also received a master’s degree in
technical education leadership from Eastern Kentucky University.
Prior
to joining KDE, Horseman served in the private sector as an engineer and small
business owner. He also has more than 25 years of experience in education as an
electrical technology teacher, and Area Technology Center principal and a
regional supervisor.
