Mike Bowling of Middlesboro is an attorney and former state representative with broad experience in governmental affairs.
He represented the 87th District in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1991 to 1998, chairing the House Judiciary Committee. He is chairman of the Pine Mountain Regional Industrial Development Authority.
Bowling began his legal career in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the U.S. Army in 1981 and began practicing law in his hometown of Middlesboro in 1985. He co-founded a law firm in 1992 and currently is a partner in the Bowling Law Office of Middlesboro along with his son Blake. He was the attorney for the Bell County Board of Education for 12 years.
Bowling holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Kentucky and a doctorate in law from Northern Kentucky University.
He is a graduate of Middlesboro High School (Middlesboro Independent).
Bowling's term will expire April 14, 2024.

Bowling, a graduate of the high school, said one of his top concerns while serving on the state board is to make sure funding is secure for local districts.
