Jennifer Stafford

Jennifer Stafford was named Director of the Division of Assessment Support for the Office of Assessment and Accountability on May 1, 2015. 

Jennifer supports district assessment coordinators to manage the multiple state-required assessments. She supports assessment vendors to create and provide materials for implementing the assessments, provides support to state educational leaders about Kentucky's assessment and accountability systems, and plays an important role in developing, implementing and communicating the state's new accountability model. 

Jennifer has 27 years of educational experience.  Prior to joining the Kentucky Department of Education, Jennifer was a principal in the Kentucky Career and Technical Education System and a classroom teacher for Owen County Schools.

She has served on various national and state committees on assessment and accountability, including serving as chair of the ACT State Committee.  She chaired the Planning Committee for the 2016 and 2017 National Conference on Student Assessment. In June 2019, Jennifer received a Strategic Excellence and Achievement (S.E.A.) Award for Student Success from the Kentucky Department of Education.

She graduated from Walton-Verona High School and holds degrees from Berea College and Northern Kentucky University.  In 2019, Jennifer received a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from Northern Kentucky University.
