Karen
Dodd has been the Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE’s) chief performance
officer since 2011. She first joined KDE as a contractor in the Office of
Education Technology (OET).
A
native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dodd received a bachelor’s degree in information
technology from the University of Cincinnati. She also became a Certified
Project Management Professional (PMP) in 2004 through the Project Management
Institute.
Dodd
enjoys participating in volunteer work in her free time. She is the president
of the Kentucky Center for Performance Excellence and has been on the board
since 2012. She has also been the chair of the Lawrenceburg United Methodist
Church Council since 2019. She loves soccer and has been involved in the sport
as a player, coach and referee since she was in grade school.
Dodd is
the proud mom of her son, Riley (19), daughter, Lexie (17), and three rescue
cats.
