JoAnn Adams of Pleasureville is a retired educator with broad experience in all levels of K-12 education and a thorough understanding of the educational needs of students, families, teachers and communities served by rural schools.

Adams spent 24 of her 33 years in teaching in the Henry County schools, and she taught middle school social studies and language arts for 15 of those years. She previously taught special education at the elementary school level. She also taught in the Washington County and Shelby County schools.

During her teaching career, she served as a member of a school-based decision making council, as a mentor in the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program and in other teacher leadership roles. She continues to serve as a volunteer mentor in the Henry County schools.

Adams and her husband operate a craft and agritourism business on their family farm.

Adams holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a Rank II certification from Eastern Kentucky University.

She is a graduate of Washington County High School.

Adams' term will expire April 14, 2024.
