The Kentucky Department of Education has developed an Insurance Guide to assist school districts in meeting the statutory and regulatory requirements relating to insurance. The guide provides general information on auto/fleet insurance, general and educators’ legal liability, errors and omissions, property insurance, boiler insurance, unemployment insurance, and workers’ compensation. In addition, the guide includes “checklists” of items to help school districts identify potential coverage areas, deductible amounts commonly used by school districts, and procurement procedures.
