The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Education Technology, Division of School Data Services in Frankfort (Franklin County) has an opening for Data Analyst.​

​DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform data analysis and research. Use data-oriented programming languages and tools to collect, query, analyze, and report on data.

Perform data analysis tasks and follow established standard procedures to assist in developing files based on file specifications. Conduct data analysis and research, interpreting results to assist in developing consistent repeatable methods aimed at improving reporting efficiencies.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address their data-related needs. Develop functional requirements documentation to transform raw data into reports and files that meet request requirements. Conduct thorough testing of data to ensure its accuracy and relevance.

Participate in developing methods to mitigate data issues and deploy corrective measures, reporting to help school districts. Proficiently utilize Microsoft Excel and SQL to test and compare data results. This includes creating and executing test cases, validating data accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and generating reports to sum findings. Ensure data integrity and consistency by applying various Excel functions and tools.

Provide updates and report on the status of outstanding tasks as requested. Assist in maintaining data-related documentation and libraries in SharePoint. Prioritize assignments effectively and escalate issues to the team leader and supervisor when necessary. Ensure compliance with data security protocols and best practices, including adherence to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 
EDUCATION:

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree OR a graduate of a college or university with an associate's degree in information technology (IT) or related field OR certification in an IT-related field.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
 
Two years of professional experience in IT data analysis.

SUBSTITUTION:
 
EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:

A master's degree in computer science will substitute for one year of the required experience.

EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
 
Two years of additional related experience in IT data analysis will substitute for the education requirement.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.) :
 
None.

Applicants currently under contract with a local school district are required to provide a written release from their superintendent prior to an offer of employment will be given.

Pay Grade: 14
Gross Monthly Salary Range: $3,496.04 - $4,699.50

NOTE: This position is eligible for consideration for a hybrid schedule that allows for a combination of in-office and approved alternative work scheduling. The agency may terminate or modify the telecommuting arrangement at any time.
