The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Special Education and Early Learning has an opening for an Education Program Manager, for Franklin County.​

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Supervise and provide leadership on behalf of the Office of Special Education and Early Learning's Transition Education Unit. Align, identify, and establish partnerships with key stakeholders, including educational institutions, community organizations, government agencies, and private sector partners. Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of partners and resources to support unit goals.

Identify resources available to accomplish the goals of the Transition Education Unit. Leverage partnerships to access and optimize resources for the benefit of students with disabilities. Support student engagement and participation in Disability Innovation Fund initiatives such as the KY Transition 360 program.

Monitor and report on the progress and outcomes of these initiatives. Plan, lead, and facilitate statewide summits focused on transition education for students with disabilities. Ensure these summits are inclusive, engaging, and productive for all participants.

Supervise professional staff, including approval of leave requests and timesheets.

Plan, lead, and facilitate the unit's stakeholder cadre. Coordinate a variety of interagency initiatives to support seamless transition services for students with disabilities. Foster community engagement and participation in transition ion initiatives,

Serve as a liaison between the Kentucky Department of Education and community partners to enhance collaborative efforts. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on initiative progress and outcomes. Develop and disseminate informational materials to promote understanding and support for transition education initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
 
EDUCATION:

Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in education or a related field.
  
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:

Six years of professional experience in education, career and technical education, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:

Current Rank II or Rank I certification by the Department of Education or Education Professional Standards Board will substitute for the required educational requirement. Additional professional experience in the field of education will substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
 
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):

None.

This is a federally funded time limited (FFTL) position. This means the position is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification but is not required to take an examination or be graded through the testing and evaluation process. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.

Applicants currently under contract with a local school district are required to provide a written release from their superintendent prior to an offer of employment is given.
 
In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Teachers' Retirement System.

Pay Grade: 17              
Gross Monthly Salary Range: $4,517.34 - $5,686.20

NOTE: This position is eligible for consideration for a hybrid schedule that allows for a combination of in-office and approved alternative work scheduling. The agency may terminate or modify the telecommuting arrangement at any time.
