​The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Special Education and Early Learning, Division of State Schools, Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD) in Danville, Kentucky (Boyle County) has an opening for an Interpreter II.​

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Perform duties providing for the care, supervision and instruction of a unit of residential
students at the Kentucky School for the Deaf.

Provides interpreting/transliterating services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in a variety of settings.

Provides interpreting/transliterating services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in a one-on-one group setting in a variety of settings.

Assist in securing interpreters in response to requests for interpreters locally or statewide.

Provide technical assistance to school districts, agencies and professionals related to sign language and interpreting.

Maintain interpreting/sign language services office through typing, filing, scheduling, correspondence and upkeep of library of reference materials.

Performs other duties as assigned.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess full licensure as an interpreter issued by the Kentucky Board of Interpreters for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. https://kbi.ky.gov/ Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Pay Grade: 15

Gross Monthly Salary Range: $3,845.56 - $5,768.44
