The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE), Division of Technical Schools and Continuous Improvement, Data and Investment Branch has an opening for a Systems Consultant IT.​

​DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Analyze requests for training and/or plans, coordinate or develop highly complex training programs for information technology personnel.

Serve as team lead, including provide support for and manage project work associated with the implementation of KY Tech System Data Exchange System in Infinite Campus for locally and state operated area technology centers. Identify, manage, and monitor data exchange system problems/issues and report problems to management, KY Tech System, Career Technical Education, and non-KY Tech System Centers.

Analyze requests for training and ensure training needs are met in the KY Tech System district, Career and Technical Education and Non-Kentucky Tech System Centers. Serve as contact for Infinite College related questions and concerns from technical centers and local districts.

Analyze user problems and make recommendations for solutions. Coordinate and provide technical assistance for student voice survey results for area technology centers.

Serve as the liaison between the technical education centers and Office of Career and Technical Education leadership.

Support and analyze Technical Education Data System data collection for technical centers.

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


EDUCATION:

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:

Four years of professional experience in computer programming, systems analysis, systems support, or computer operating systems.

SUBSTITUTION:

EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:

Related technical or vocational training will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. A master's degree in computer science will substitute for one year of the required experience.

EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:

Experience in computer programming, systems analysis, and/or computer operations will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Experience in business or public administration, statistics, research, or a related field will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):

None.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Knowledge of the KY Tech System Data Exchange Infinite Campus system, teamwork, communication, data processing and organization, the ability to work with minimal supervision, to work independently, problem solve and critical thinking.

Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check.

Applicants currently under contract with a local school district are required to provide a written release from their superintendent prior to an offer of employment is given.

Pay Grade: 17         
Gross Monthly Salary Range: $4652.86 - $6254.30
