The most important factor in the achievement of our students is the effectiveness of the teachers and principals who serve them.

The Office of Educator Licensure and Effectiveness provides leadership, technical assistance, diversification resources and consultative services to Kentucky schools with the goal of improving student achievement through organizational development and professional learning.  Recruitment services, workforce diversification initiatives, educator grants and scholarships, and future educator development programs enable Kentucky to recruit and retain high quality professionals in the educational field.

The goal is to improve both the quality of the teaching force throughout the schools in Kentucky.  The scope includes partnerships with colleges and universities in Kentucky by building on traditional programs, collaborating with other key higher education administration and faculty, and promoting careers in teaching to middle and high school students through Grow Your Own programs to build educator pipelines.
