DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general direction of a manager, provides consultative services, technical assistance and training to local school district personnel and other state and/or private educational agencies, residential child care institutions, child care centers, family day care homes and summer food service program sponsors in the development, coordination, implementation and monitoring of their nutrition programs.
Conduct administration and compliance monitoring of sponsors of the Summer Food Service Program.
Provide training and technical assistance to sponsors of the Summer Food Services Program.
Conduct compliance monitoring of sponsors of the Summer Food Services Program.
Evaluate and approve application/agreements for program participation, adding same to data base.
Participate in unscheduled “special request” monitoring or training/technical assistance requested by program sponsors or the Department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Applicants must be a graduate of a college or university with a Master’s degree in education, education administration, food service administration, nutrition, home economics, vocational home economics, or a related field. Applicant must have five years of professional experience in education, vocational education, food service administration, or a related field.
Current Rank II or Rank I certification by the Education Professional Standards Board will substitute for the required education OR registration as a Dietician will substitute for the required education OR additional professional experience in the field of education or food service administration will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Applicants currently under contract with a local school district are required to provide a written release from their superintendent prior to an offer of employment will be given.
In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Kentucky Teachers’ Retirement System.
Pay Grade: 15
Gross Monthly Salary Range: $3,230.84 - $4,280.10
Please be advised per 101 KAR 2:034 and KDE’s internal policy concerning the salary of newly appointed state employees, the salary that KDE will offer for this position to the candidate is $3,230.84. This salary for this classification for newly appointed state employees is non-negotiable.
