The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Special Education and Early Learning, Division of State Schools, has an opening for an Administrative Dean at the Kentucky School for the Deaf in Danville.​

The Administrative Dean provides leadership and coordination across instructional, compliance, and student support frameworks at the Kentucky School for the Deaf. This role supports behavior systems, special education processes, assessment coordination, and professional learning, while ensuring alignment with state and federal requirements. The Administrative Dean works collaboratively with staff, families, and external partners to promote student success and continuous school improvement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Serve as the Building Assessment Coordinator in support of the District Assessment Coordinator (DAC), assisting with planning, coordination, and administration of state and federal assessments.

Serve as Professional Development (PD) Coordinator, planning, implementing, and evaluating staff learning aligned with school and KDE priorities.

Serve as the Infinite Campus (IC) Coordinator, ensuring data accuracy, reporting compliance, and staff support. Maintain oversight of student data systems to ensure timely and accurate documentation.

Oversee behavior support including data collection, entry, and reporting within Infinite Campus (IC). Provide Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training and support.

Serve as Extended School Services (ESS) Coordinator.

Serve as the English Learners Coordinators in support of the development of Program Service Plans (PSP) and ACCESS testing.

Coordinate mentorship programs in partnership with Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), including oversight of mentors and support for new staff.

Oversee Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) planning and implementation to ensure continuity of learning.

Chair Admissions and Release Committee (ARC) meetings as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have Professional Certificate for Instructional Leadership- Principal for all Grades, Level 2, at time of application.

Five (5) years of experience in Special Education

Experience in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education

Preferred Skills:

Proficiency in ASL is preferred. Please note the selected candidate is expected to attain a Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) rating of Intermediate is within four years of employment.

Experience in Infinite Campus
