Advisory Groups

​​​This section of the website contains information about various state advisory groups related to Exceptional Children and Early Learning. ​​

State Advisory Panel for Exceptional Children (SAPEC) advises and assists the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) on special education and related services for children with disabilities. The SAPEC members represent various agencies, individuals with disabilities, parents of children with disabilities, service providers, and administrators.

Special Education Advisory Group Infinite Campus (SEAGIC) is charged with the responsibility of making sure that Kentucky’s student information system addresses the special education needs of both local school districts and the Office of Special Education and Early Learning (OSEEL). 

State Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education​ is mandated by Kentucky Revised Statute (KRS) 158.648 and is created to make recommendations regarding the provision of educational services for gifted and talented students in the Commonwealth.
 
Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) Advisory Group​ was established under KRS 167.035, to act in an advisory capacity to assist the superintendent in conducting the activities of the school and to make recommendations to the chief state school officer concerning all areas relating to the effective operation of the school.

Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD) Advisory Group was established under KRS 167.037, to act in an advisory capacity to assist the school superintendent in conducting the activities of the school and to make recommendations to the chief state school officer concerning all areas relating to the effective operation of the school.
