State Advisory Panel for Exceptional Children (SAPEC) advises and assists the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) on special education and related services for children with disabilities. The SAPEC members represent various agencies, individuals with disabilities, parents of children with disabilities, service providers, and administrators.
Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) Advisory Group was established under
KRS 167.035 to act in an advisory capacity to assist the superintendent in conducting the activities of the school and to make recommendations to the chief state school officer concerning all areas relating to the effective operation of the school.
Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD) Advisory Group was established under
KRS 167.037 to act in an advisory capacity to assist the school superintendent in conducting the activities of the school and to make recommendations to the chief state school officer concerning all areas relating to the effective operation of the school.
