Stronger Connections Grant

Published: 7/14/2026 8:26 AM

The Stronger Connections Grant (SCG) Program is intended to support evidence-based school safety and climate plans, along with other evidence-based strategies for creating safe, healthy, and supportive schools.

SCG Program Summary

The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) provides $1 billion in funding to state educational agencies (SEAs) to be distributed under Title IV, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). The BSCA specifies that SEAs must make competitive sub grants to high-need local educational agencies (LEAs), as determined by the SEA, for activities to support safe and healthy students under Section 4108 of ESEA. The U.S. Department of Education has designated BSCA section 4108 funds as the Stronger Connections Grant program to distinguish it from the regular Title IV, Part A, Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants program, which funds a broader range of activities.

FY24 Stronger Connections Grant (SCG) RFA Awards

Following the completion of the review process, 28 Kentucky school districts were awarded the Stronger Connections Grant funds to help provide students with safe and supportive learning opportunities and environments. Reference the FY24 Stronger Connections Grant Awards for the list of awardees.

Period of Availability

The period of availability of FY 2022 Stronger Connections Grant funds (617K) (awarded through Title IV, Part A of the ESEA under the BSCA) has been extended through June 30, 2027. Contract modifications will be sent to school districts by mid-August 2026.
