The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) which serve 115 local feeder districts. A state Area Technology Center (ATC) is a secondary state operated school facility dedicated to the primary purpose of offering state approved four (4)-course Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways within CTE program areas identified by the OCTE. The Area Technology Centers under the Office of Career and Technical Education are organizationally part of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), a service agency within the Commonwealth of Kentucky under the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. KDE supports the ATCs through guidance, resources, and oversight as part of its broader mission to ensure success for every student in Kentucky's P-12 public education system.

Responsibilities include:
Provide overall management and supervision of personnel, programs, and curriculum development in the center.
Develop annual and long-range plans for vocational education programs to meet the needs of business and industry.
Coordinate operations, implementation, and evaluation of the secondary, postsecondary, and adult upgrade programs in the center.
Provide guidance to teachers in curriculum development, instruction, preparation of records, professional development, and other matters.
Serve as a liaison between Kentucky Tech, local school districts, and the business community.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
EDUCATION:
Applicants must hold one of the following: Kentucky Vocational Principal's Certificate or Kentucky statement of Eligibility for Vocational Principal;
Kentucky Secondary Principal's Certificate or Kentucky Statement of Eligibility for Secondary Principal, or a valid Kentucky Certificate for Career & Technical Education;
Kentucky Department of Education Vocational Technical School Certificate in Administration, Supervision, and Coordination (issued prior to 1988)
OR
Has completed all coursework requirements and will receive a Kentucky Vocational Principal's Certificate or a Kentucky Secondary Principal's Certificate within one year of initial hire date.
Salary: Dependent on rank and experience

Applicants under contract with a local school district must submit a written release from their superintendent before an offer of employment can be extended.
In accordance with KRS 161.220, the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Teachers' Retirement System.
